BASICS OF THE COURSE EACH WEEK

These are time sensitive. You do not receive credit if you write them after the deadline each week. Furthermore, if you are in the habit of writing everything on Saturday you will not receive full credit. Why? There would be no time for others to interact with your writing. Write early; write often! Right? Right!

First, there's a blog entry (about 250 words) which will have you respond to a hopefully thought-provoking question. Each week, you must do the blog entry with enough time left in the week to be able to enter into dialogue online with your classmates. Write, reply, write more, reply more, and then write and reply more.

Second, there's a reading. There’s no blog entry associated with this. Just read.

Third, there's a written response to the reading. Your reading and writing on the blog must be completed by the SATURDAY (by midnight) of the week in which the reading falls. This entry should be a long paragraph. YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESPOND TO OTHER STUDENTS' PART THREE EACH WEEK.

WEEK THREE WRITING ABOUT WHAT YOU READ

No need to write about what you read this week since you will be writing those fabulous restaurant reviews.

  1. I believe that writers do have the power to increase the worth of a restaurant or be the downfall of their ability to make it big. Critics have the power to do a lot in restaurants, but they don't see everything that goes on and that's why cooks and restaurants hate critics just like people hate cops. Critics control everything when it comes to making customers want to go to a restaurant. Their grading and say has a lot to do with the customers opinion of the restaurant even if the restaurant has delicious food and the chef is the best in the country. Critics will lie to the restaurant and make it seem like they have a great restaurant, but what really matters is what they write in the paper that everyone reads. Bad comments about the restaurant always make customers believe that the restaurant is not great, but critics don't try everything or meet with every waiter there is. They are one sided and only try what they want to have and not what everyone else may love to eat at restaurants. Their comments judge them and make people think differently about the restaurants.
